Sara Wilson's paint brush also "speaks" with the "poignant tones of Versilia" to which she moved from her native England. It speaks with mellilluos fluidity stregthened, however, by solid pictorial material which allows glimpses of confident, vigorous design. The pearly reflections in the seas, the intense, sunny luminosity of the flowers, the poetic subtlety of small corners of landscape, the vibrant integration of composition and colour in the still lifes, simple narrative suggestions inspired by realism but transfered to a timeless dimension: all these manifest in Sara Wilson a full, expressive freedom which finds affirmation in the natural quality of the compositions, without sacrificing anything of the detail and definition of the whole. Sara Wilson's work corruscates with sun - filled reflections, an artiste maturity revealing her expressive, creative ability in a chieving a season rich with keen observation and imaginative interpretation, at times containing a hint of melancholy; a "season of mists and mellow fruitfulness". |
